This position is responsible for validating legal customs compliance, regarding imports and exports, for the operation in Latin America.
• Ensure trade compliance of the operations in Latin America, from a customs and legal perspective.
• Review, from a technical point of view, that there are standardized and lean processes in place to ensure customs compliance in Latin America.
• Manage the relationship with Brokers and establish sustainable compliance guidelines.
• Confirm that the import and export licensing or permit requirements are complied with.
• Validate the compliance of procedures, used by the company for import/export matters, at a regional level.
• Work with the Finance Managers from Latin America.
• Provide support, review and analyze requirements and the law and regulations, influence biz partners in order to get information and documentation.
• Ensure situations and processes get adjusted to comply with the legislation.
• Responsible for engagement in discussions with the government and non-government agencies in order to pursue improvements of the law and regulations.
• Partner with the different groups to understand needs and identify improvement opportunities.
• Be able to implement and sustain a regular working model.

Qualifications:
• Candidates must possess a Bachelor Degree in Law. Master's degree would be an added advantage.
• 12 - 15 years of working experience, in Customs matters.
• Preferably 7 years of experience as a consultant/advisor.
• Experience with customs compliance regarding export regulations in USA and Latin America
• Previous experience in Government, consulting/advisory firms, multinational companies
• Advanced English
• Leadership skills.
• Must be able and willing to travel
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient in Windows Office
• Great communication skills.
• Multitasking.
